The Junior Professional Officer programme (JPO) facilitates the recruitment of young professionals, normally below the age of 32 years, who wish to acquire experience in the CTBTO’s areas of expertise . Candidates are required to possess an advanced university degree. Selection is highly competitive and of a limited duration of no more than two years.

JPOs are recruited under bilateral agreements between the CTBTO and donor States, which provide the necessary funds to cover all costs, including salary, allowances, insurance and travel expenses. Therefore nationals of donor States should apply directly to the authorities in their country.
