The Commission has opportunities throughout the year for individuals to work on a short-term basis to provide secretarial and clerical assistance to the various offices of the Secretariat. The duties of these positions range from support during Conferences and Workshops over secretarial assistance to clerical and administrative work.
The length of short-term assignments varies and is determined by the Commission's needs ranging from one-week to normally not longer than four months. For most of our short-term assignments, suitably qualified candidates are required to pass an English grammar test and should be able to type at least 40 words per minute in English. These opportunities are for local recruitment only.
Short-term employees are not considered regular staff members of the Commission. They are required to sign the applicable contract, which details the terms and conditions prior to taking up an assignment. To be eligible for any type of short-term assignment, the individual must provide proof of her/his own health insurance and hold a valid passport. A short-term contract does not, in any way, constitute a promise of future employment with the Commission.
Interested candidates should complete a Personal History Form and send us a letter of interest. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
