and observational technology

At the core of the Treaty’s verification regime are four ground-based global sensor networks to measure signals in the atmosphere, solid earth, and hydrosphere that are relevant to nuclear explosions occurring underground, underwater, or in the atmosphere. Together, these observing networks form the Treaty’s multi-technology International Monitoring System. Contributions are sought in relevant areas of sensor network design and observational technology. Presentations are welcome on next-generation sensors and networks; increasing the reliability, robustness, and potential of sensor networks through their calibration, sensitivity, sustainment, power and communication systems, technical specifications; improving data quality; strategies for sampling and tuning network sensitivity; improving networks through performance modelling; mitigating background noise; physical layout of networks and sensor distribution; and complementing permanent networks with dense deployments and instrument campaigns.
