S&T11 will foster exchange between the CTBTO and the global scientific community and address the following goals:

• highlight advances in science and technology relevant to test ban verification
• encourage development in scientific and technological capacity in the wider CTBT community
• develop partnerships between stakeholders in the wider  CTBT community
• consider wider applications and synergies with science of the Treaty’s verification regime
