Objectives:

To familiarize participants with the geophysical continuation period techniques (CPTs), in particular the resistivity depth sounding equipment (CSAMT) to be used during the Integrated Field Exercise in 2008 (Kazakhstan, 25 August - 30 September 2008).


Language:

The working language of the workshop will be English.

Participants Profile:

The course is intended for the potential participants in the Integrated Field Exercise in 2008 (Kazakhstan, 25 August - 30 September 2008)

Participants will be chosen from the existing roster of leading experts and scientists from States Signatories.

 

Application Procedures:

Candidates selected should send the completed registration form to the contact person in the Provisional Technical Secretariat (see the contact details above) by 30 April 2008.

Financial Information:

The PTS will provide participants with accommodation, travel and a percentage of daily subsistence allowance (DSA) in line with the usual CTBTO procedure. 

 
Agenda: 

(1) Overview and test of the CPTs, in particular the resistivity depth sounding equipment (CSAMT);

(2) Methodology of the CPT field deployment;

(3) Application of the different geophysical CPTs;

(4) Data analysis;

(5) Test and revision of the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
