Objectives:

(1) Familiarize participants with the Seismic Aftershock Monitoring System (SAMS) software and newly acquired hardware to be used during the Integrated Field Exercise in 2008.

(2) Provide inspectors and inspection assistants with additional experience and training on SAMS procedures, tools and software.  



Language:

The working language of the workshop will be English.

Participants Profile:

The training course is intended for

(i) representatives of National Authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense and National Data Centres, etc.), who are involved in coordinating and managing national activities related to OSI, especially those with experience relevant to the course content,

(ii) experts in field operations of aftershock monitoring and gathering and analysis of seismology data, and

(iii) potential inspectors and inspection assistants for the Integrated Field Exercise 2008.



Application Procedures:

States Signatories wishing to nominate experts are requested to inform the On-Site Inspection Division of the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS) through their Permanent Missions before 1 March 2008.

Candidates selected will be contacted by the PTS and informed about the procedures to be followed with regard to administrative and financial matters.

 

Deadline for Application:

Nominations together with the completed registration form should be submitted to the PTS (see the contact details above) not later than 25 March 2008.

 

Financial Information:

The PTS will provide the participants with travel and daily subsistence allowance for the duration of the course.
