Objectives:

To build up a pool of possible candidates for data analysis positions and to support the operation of National Data Centres (NDCs).


Language:

The working language of the workshop will be English and is mandatory.

Participants Profile:

A university degree in nuclear or geophysical science with relevant experience in either waveform analysis (seismic, hydroacoustic or infrasound) or radionuclide analysis (particulate, noble gas) is required.

Experience with the LINUX operating system and SQL is desirable.



Application Procedures:

Applications should be submitted to the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS) through established official channels (Permanent Missions to the CTBTO or Ministries of Foreign Affairs).

Deadline for Application:

The completed registration form must be received by the PTS no later than 15 July 2009.



Financial Information:

Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA): at the expense of the PTS.

Travel: at the expense of the PTS.  

 

Agenda:

The course will consist of an orientation period followed by hands-on training.

Training will be conducted either on the analysis of seismic, hydroacoustic and infrasound data from global networks or on the analysis of gamma-ray spectra from radionuclide particulate and noble gas detectors as appropriate for the participants.
