To obtain feedback from experts of National Data Centres (NDCs), as customers of the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS), on the performance of the verification system in order to foster its continual improvement and on the set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which would best represent and measure such performance.
The working language of the workshop will be English.

Participants Profile: Intended for NDC technical staff.
States Signatories wishing to nominate experts are requested to inform the Evaluation Section of the Provisional Technical Secretariat through their Permanent Missions before 9 April 2010.
Participants are requested to complete the attached registration form and send it to the point of contact before 9 April 2010.

No registration fee will be charged.
The PTS will bear the costs of the workshop.
Travel costs, daily subsistence allowance, health insurance, etc., are to be borne by the participants.
Subject to the availability of funds and the submission of a poster or a brief PowerPoint presentation, the PTS will explore the possibility of providing limited financial assistance to some of the experts coming from countries with low or lower middle income in accordance with the World Development Indicators database of the World Bank.
Participants requesting financial assistance should register and submit a file of their poster or PowerPoint presentation relevant to the objectives of the workshop before 9 April 2010.
(1) Briefings on the scientific basis and operational issues of verification technologies, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas between participants from different technologies;
(2) Software tutorials at the margins of the workshop so that developed NDCs can share their experience;
(3) The results of the 2009 NDC Preparedeness Exercise;
(4) The results of applying the PTS Perfomance Monitoring and Testing Framework; and
(5) Consideration of a revised preliminary draft PTS process metrics manual.
Posters and Presentations
Participants should indicate in the registration form whether they intend to submit a poster or a brief PowerPoint presentation relevant to the objectives of the workshop.
Participants are encouraged to present posters on NDC activities related to the topics of the workshop.
Abstracts for poster presentations should be sent electronically by early April 2010 to Ms Olfa Seyah, email address email@example.com.
Posters will be briefly introduced by authors in a plenary session. Further discussion on posters can be held during breaks.
Posters measurement: maximum width -1.5 metres; length - no limitation.
The content of presentations should be related to the topics of the workshop.
Presentations should be submitted electronically by early April 2010 to Ms Olfa Seyah, email address firstname.lastname@example.org, and on a CD-ROMs during the workshop.
The duration of a presentation should not exceed 15 minutes.
Other pertinent information:
(1) Open only to States Signatories.
(2) A one-day visit to the Kenya Rift Valley including the Olkaria Geothermal Power Station is planned.
A special rate including breakfast has been granted at the Safari Park Hotel.
Participants must make their own payment arrangements and hotel reservations before 9 April 2010.
(4) Health and Accident Insurance
Prior to their departure to Nairobi, participants should acquire a health and accident insurance for the duration of the workshop.
Please contact the appropriate medical authority in your country regarding required vaccinations and advice on health conditions in Nairobi. Please note that medical prepartion should be made well in advance.
Participants should apply for visas, if needed, at the corresponding consular office at least THIRTY (30) DAYS BEFORE 10 May 2010 (workshop opening date) in order to ensure timely processing. The PTS will provide personal invitations to visa applicants.
