Participants Profile:

(1) Workshop participants should be OSI experts, and ideally participating in the draft OSI Operational Manual elaboration process under Working Group B.

(2) Candidates must be proficient in English. 

 
Application Procedures:

Nominations together with the registration forms should be submitted only through established official channels (permanent missions to the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO or Ministries for Foreign Affairs) to the PTS focal point (please see contact details above) no later than                   11 October 2010.

 

Acceptance:

A letter of acceptance will be sent to the accepted candidate after his/her official nomination.

No official letter of acceptance will be sent out until the participant's registration form is received by the PTS through the official channels (permanent mission to the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO or Ministry for Foreign Affairs).

Financial Information:

In accordance with the Staff Regulations and Rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and financial support to a number of experts to cover travel costs.

The PTS will select from among the nominated experts based on the latter's experience and area of expertise and subject to the availability of funding. Confirmed participants will receive further detailed information in this respect.

 
Agenda: 

  • IT data handling and confidentiality, e.g. data management process, protection of confidential information, handling of digital images;
  • IT communications, e.g. performance standards, use of encryption, equipment-related issues;
  • Equipment-related pre-inspection activities, e.g. selection and preparation (calibration/packing/shipping), mandate preparation and other equipment-related documentation;
  • OSI Equipment List, e.g. principles and development, framework of the list, key technical elements for the list.
