Objectives
The Workshop on the Signatures of Medical and Industrial Isotope Production (WOSMIP V) brings together experts from the treaty monitoring and isotope production communities to explore means to mitigate the effects of emissions from 99Mo facilities without impacting production.

Agenda

  • Introductory session - goals of the work, description of the problem, review of pat activities;
  • Detection of emissions or events or effluents (includes remote detection, stack monitoring, and local measurements);
  • Recent and planned activities at isotope production facilities;
  • Trends in Chemistry and abatement;
  • Review of on-going research and development in abatement technologies;

          New topics for 2015

  • Review of stack monitoring data sharing modalities;
  • Atmospheric transport modelling challenge.

Participants Profile
Attendance at previous WOSMIP workshops is not a prerequisite for attendance in 2015. We request experts from organizations that are familiar with the medical isotope emission issues and/or experts in monitoring and processing of 99Mo medical isotope production facilities. As the emissions are not of a health and safety concern, the workshop does not involve discussions related to regulatory matters.
