OBJECTIVES

  • To conduct further discussions on the draft list of equipment for use during on-site inspections. This list will include Initial Period Techniques, Continuation Period Techniques (CPT), and cross cutting and operations support activities; 

  • To draw on OSI Workshop-22 and IFE14 lessons learned in order to further develop the OSI Equipment List. 

AGENDA
The OSI equipment list in general, software issues and related OSI documentation will be discussed in plenary. The proposed topics for discussion in each of the Expert Groups at the workshop are: 

  • The status of technical development )concept of operations, procedures and equipment);

  • Lessons learned and recommendations; 

  • Proposed specifications, operational requirements, certification criteria and procedures, and calibration requirements; 

  • Implications for cross cutting activities. 



PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Workshop participants should be OSI experts with expertise in the areas of visual observation, multispectral imaging and infrared; radionuclide/noble gas techniques; geophysical techniques or cross-cutting activities including communications and data management.


APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Nominations for the Workshop, together with registration forms, should be submitted only through established official channels (Permanent Missions to the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO or Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to the PTS focal points (please see contact details above) no later than 12 August 2016

The PTS will identify and invite OSI experts from States Signatories and the PTS to the Workshop. 


FINANCIAL INFORMATION 

In accordance with the Staff regulations and Rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and financial assistance to a limited number of experts to cover travel costs. The PTS will select from among the nominated experts based on the latter's experience and area of expertise and subject  to the availability of funding. Confirmed participants will receive further detailed information in this respect.
