OVERALL OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the workshop is to improve the understanding of infrasound generation, propagation and processing.  

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

  • The workshop is aimed towards Technical Staff with an interest in infrasound propagation in the atmosphere, and infrasound data processing. Note that the number of participants in the workshop will be limited.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants are invited to submit their applications for this workshop through established official channels (their Permanent Missions to the CTBTO or Ministries of Foreign Affairs) to the Provisional Technical Secretariat of the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO no later than 20 December 2010 to the point of contact.

Applicants are requested to use the registration form available below. Applications will be reviewed and subsequently applicants will be notified.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

In accordance with the Staff Regulations and Rules, and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and financial support to cover the travel costs:

  • The DSA will be sufficient to cover accommodation and related expenses during the workshop;
  • The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue and forward the electronic flight tickets to the participants for the most direct and economic route.

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION

Participants will be expected to pay for their hotel stay out of their DSA that they receive from the Representative of the PTS upon arrival at the workshop venue;

Insurance: All participants shall be covered under the Global Medical Insurance scheme for the PTS trainees under third party liability insurance.
