The Secretary-General of the UN, Mr. Ban Ki-moon meets with the Executive Secretary of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, Mr. Tibor Tóth

The Secretary-General of the UN, Mr. Ban Ki-moon met with the Executive Secretary of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, Mr. Tibor Tóth, Friday 23 February, on the occasion of the Secretary-General’s first official visit to the United Nations Office at Vienna. The Secretary-General, who is also the Depositary of the CTBT, and the Executive Secretary, discussed the universalization of the Treaty and the event in the DPRK on 9 October 2006. The Secretary-General has long-standing ties with the CTBTO. He served as Chairman of the PrepCom in 1999 while being posted to Vienna as Ambassador of the Republic of Korea.
