The CTBTO awards a limited number of internships to university students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The purpose of an internship is to provide a learning and development experience in various professional fields related to CTBTO’s specialized activities. Opportunities for internships are available subject to the current needs of the Divisions within the CTBTO.
The duration of an internship is normally no less than three months and no more than one year. For interns who do not receive financial support from an institution, university or other source, a stipend might be provided to assist with basic subsistence costs during the internship period. Interns are required to participate in the medical scheme of CTBTO at their own cost unless they provide proof of alternative medical coverage. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangement for travel and lodging during the internship period.
Age: Applicants must be at least 18 and no older than 35 years of age;
Education: The applicant must have completed at least two years of full-time study at a university or equivalent institution that will lead to the award of a degree. Applications may be made up to two years after the completion of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree.
Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable. Other languages may be beneficial, depending on the needs of the receiving Division.
