To enhance and develop station operator's knowledge and skills regarding the operational and maintenance aspects of radionuclide stations using Cinderella system.



  • Daily station operations and reporting, including: station operational checks, messaging and alerting, filter handling, status checks and management, data access procedures, sending, authentication and security.
  • Periodic station operations, including: detector calibration, general understanding of gamma spectrometry detection system, taking background measurements and blank filter measurements, and data backup procedures.
  • Introduction into station operations and overview of the Station Specific Operator's Manual (SSOM).
  • Required reports and reporting and use of IMS Reporting System (IRS) for communication with PTS.
  • Station equipment maintenance schedule, recording and reporting and use of equipment user's manual as a guide.
  • Data availability and downtime and the effect of various equipment failures on data availability.
  • Station management and administrative procedures.


Participant Profile
Station operators of IMS radionuclide stations using Cinderella equipment directly concerned with the operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment.

Application Procedure and Deadline 
Nominations together with the registration forms should be submitted only though established official channels (their Permanent Missions to the Preparatory Commission for the CTBTO or Ministries of Foreign Affairs) to the PTS point of contact above, no later than 1 May 2015.

Applicants are requested to use the following registration form:
RF_TT for Radionuclide SOs using Cinderella Equipment

However, pending the official nomination, participants many send the registration via email, upon its approval by a Director of the institution, to allow timely travel and accommodation arrangements to be made by the PTS.

Financial Information
In accordance with the Staff regulations and rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and financial support to cover travel costs. 

  • A DSA that is sufficient to cover related expenses during the training programme;
  • The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue and send the flight tickets to the participants for the most direct and economic route;
  • Funded participants are not allowed to purchase their own tickets unless, under exceptional circumstances, be authorized to do so and only if this proves to be most cost efficient for the PTS; and
  • Health insurance will be provided to cover the duration of the training.


Other Pertinent Information
Participants should apply for visas, if needed, at the corresponding consular office upon receipt of an Acceptance Note Verbale from the PTS, in order to ensure timely processing.
