SPECIALIZED TECHNICAL MEETING ON PREVENTIVE AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL MONITORING SYSTEM (IMS)

During the O&M Workshop 2015, it was recommended that once every two years, alternating, between an event focused on the full spectrum of topics and an event focused on specific topics should take place.
The O&M Workshop (full spectrum of topics) was held in 2018 and is expected to be held again in 2022.
Following the recommendation, a Specialized Technical Meeting (with specific topics) will be held as a virtual meeting with the following objectives:
To provide a platform to present measures and tools that will lead to enhanced monitoring and sustainment of the IMS on (a) Cutting-edge developments in State-of-Health (SOH) monitoring and tools for Station Operators, in particular on notification and predictive analysis; and (b) Potential sustainability enhancements for the IMS station network, in the areas such as equipment standardization, best practices of operation, documentation, training.

In line with the objectives and the recommendations of past O&M workshops, the meeting will focus on the following topics:
A. Advances and innovations in State-of-Health (SoH) monitoring and tools
- Development and application of innovative SoH software;
- Hardware and software monitoring tools;
- Remote troubleshooting and problem-solving (including cost savings);
- Predictive analysis for efficient preventive maintenance;
- SoH notifications techniques.
B. Strategies for sustainability enhancements
- Standardization of equipment and services;
- Methods to improve station reliability and maintainability (using proven standard robust designs);
- O&M best practices;
- Sparing optimization.
In addition, COVID-19 issues identified and solutions in regard to operations and maintenance will be discussed.
Station Operators who operate IMS Station(s) and others contributing with relevant subject matters directly to the objectives of the meeting.
Registration is a requirement for participation in the meeting.

Ideally, registered participants will actively contribute to the meeting with a presentation using the WebEx platform.
Abstracts for presentations, within the frame of the topics listed above, should be sent to http://ctnw.ctbto.org no later than 6 September 2020. All abstracts will be reviewed for approval.
