Technical Training for IMS Infrasound Station Operators with Nanometrics Centaur Equipment
LOCATION
TeST Centre
Seibersdorf, Austria
DATES
1-5 December 2025
LANGUAGE
The working language will be English.
OBJECTIVES
To equip station operators with the knowledge and technical expertise required for the operation, maintenance, and management of an IMS infrasound station utilizing the Nanometrics Centaur digitizer. Upon completing the course, trainees will be capable of efficiently performing essential tasks related to station operations, reporting, and configuration management. They will also gain the skills to conduct proper State of Health (SOH) and data monitoring, as well as execute systematic equipment and software configuration and maintenance. Specifically, trainees will be able to:
- Identify and describe the primary station systems, components, and equipment.
- Configure Nanometrics Centaur digitizers and SSI software effectively.
- Utilize State of Health (SOH) and data monitoring tools, demonstrating the ability to assess station performance and interpret SOH information.
- Outline key operational tasks and practice reporting using the IRS system.
- Explain the concept of configuration management and demonstrate proficient use of DOTS.
- Describe the interconnections between operations, maintenance activities, and available support resources to sustain IMS stations.
- Develop strategies for mitigating, troubleshooting, and resolving failures that significantly impact station performance.
- Identify data quality issues and strategies for corrective actions.
