Technical Training for Russian-Speaking Station Operators of Radionuclide Monitoring Stations

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this Technical Training organized together with the Special Monitoring Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation are to provide station operators with the basic knowledge and technical understanding of the operations, maintenance and management of a manual radionuclide station and, more specifically, to provide hands-on training for the various operational and maintenance procedures.
AGENDA
- Daily station operation, including:
- Status checks, new filter preparation, taking flow samples and checking status;
- Filter management and filter logging procedures;
- Data sending, authentication and security.
2. Periodic Station Operations and data management, including:
- Detector calibration, the principles of Gamma spectrometry detection, taking background measurements, blank filter measurements;
- Data backup, management, and resending of spectral data;
- Operational set-up after long outage;
- Required reports and reporting;
- Station equipment maintenance schedule;
- Data availability and downtime;
- Station management and administrative procedures.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Station operators of IMS radionuclide stations (RN54–61) and the Radionuclide Laboratory (RL13) hosted by the Russian Federation, as well as other personnel directly involved in the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at these facilities.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Applicants are requested to use the provided registration form and submit it by 15 March 2026:

Applications will be reviewed and applicants notified subsequently.
However, pending the official nomination, participants may email the registration form to [email protected] upon its approval by a director of the institution, to allow timely travel and accommodation arrangements by the PTS.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
In accordance with the Staff regulations and rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide the following:
- A Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) that is sufficient to cover the related expenses during the training programme;
- The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue and forward the flight ticket to the participants for the most direct and economic route;
- Funded participants are not allowed to purchase their own tickets unless, under exceptional circumstances, be authorized to do so and only if this proves to be most cost efficient for the PTS;
- The PTS will book a hotel and cover the costs for the accommodation and training participants will receive their remaining Daily Subsistence Allowance upon arrival in Vienna; and
- Health insurance will be provided for the duration of the training.
Requirement: A valid scanned copy of passport.
