Visit by the UK Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs

The UK Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs represented by Rt Hon Sir John Stanley MP (Chairman), Mr Fabian Hamilton MP, Mr Eric Illsley MP, Mr Greg Pope MP and Mr Ken Purchase MP paid a courtesy visit to Mr Tibor Tóth, Executive Secretary of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, on 18 January 2006. They were accompanied by Mr Peter Jenkins, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the CTBTO Preparatory Commission. Mr Tóth provided an overview of the International Monitoring System of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission. The visitors were interested in issues related to the verification technologies, distribution of data to Member States, prospects for entry into force of the Treaty and the funding situation of the Commission.
