Media Invitation

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) is pleased to invite members of the media to A press breakfast on The Conference to Facilitate the Entry into Force
of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT).
When: Tuesday, 8 September 2009 at 09:30
Where: CTBTO, Vienna International Centre,
Wagramer Strasse 5, A-1400 Vienna, Austria
Room E0763

CTBTO Executive Secretary Ambassador Tibor Tóth and the two Coordinators of the process to promote the entry into force of the Treaty, Ambassador Florence Mangin of France and Ambassador Omar Zniber of Morocco, will be present. This year’s conference takes place at a time when nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation feature prominently on the international political agenda.  This is also reflected by the growing political support for the CTBT. For the first time in ten years, the entry into force of the Treaty has become a realistic political goal.  In this situation, the conference to promote the CTBT that will take place in New York from 24 to 25 September assumes great significance. Mr. Tóth and the two Coordinators will brief the media on recent developments surrounding the CTBT and the momentum the conference can create in support of the Treaty’s entry into force.  If you are not able to attend the press briefing in person, you can follow it via internet (WEBEX). Please register (see below) to receive login information. Please visit the CTBTO website for more information on the conference to promote the entry into force of the CTBTPictures and video files on the CTBTO are available for download in the press centre.
