OBJECTIVES
- Understanding the roles of National Data Centres in the verification regime;
- Building and/or improving the National Data Centre capabilities;
- Providing participants with practical experience in accessing and analyzing waveform IMS data using NDC-in-a-Box software package; and
- Establishing a permanent forum among Russian-speaking NDCs to promote best practices in the effective use of IMS data and IDC products for civil and scientific applications.

- Regional workshop and participant introduction presentations.
- Methods for accessing IMS data and IDC products.
- Introduction to SeisComP – NDC-in-a-Box software for automated IMS data acquisition, processing, and storage.
- Hands-on sessions on configuring and operating SeisComP.
- Field trip – a visit to the NDC of Turkmenistan.
- Introduction to Geotool – an interactive analyst tool for reviewing seismic events.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
The regional workshop and integrated training aim to ensure broad participation from Russian-Speaking NDCs, particularly:
- NDC technical staff and analysts, preferably authorized users (Principal or Regular) with experience in IMS waveform data analysis or related work in support of nuclear test-ban verification regime.
- Seismologists from other institutions affiliated with the CTBTO who operate IMS and national seismic networks and process their data to detect seismic events and determine their parameters.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
The deadline for application is 19 April 2026
Applicants are invited to submit their applications through the established official channels (their Permanent Mission to the CTBTO or Ministry of Foreign Affairs) by using the following registration form and having it submitted to the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS) no later than, the deadline of 19 April 2026.
Submitted applications will be reviewed and approved applicants will be notified subsequently.
However, pending receipt of the official nomination, participants may email the filled out registration to the PTS (see point of contact for email), upon approval by the Director/Head of their institution, to allow for timely travel and accommodation arrangements to be made by the PTS.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
Applicable to PTS-funded participants only
In accordance with the Staff regulations and rules and Administrative Directives, the Secretariat will provide the following to funded participants:
- A Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) sufficient to cover related expenses during the workshop programme;
- The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue and forward the flight ticket to participants for the most direct and economic route;
- Funded participants are not permitted to purchase their own tickets unless, under exceptional circumstances, they are authorized to do so and only if this proves to be more cost-efficient for the PTS;
- The PTS will arrange a hotel accommodation and cover the associated costs; and
- Health insurance will be provided for the duration of the workshop.
Requirement: Scanned copy of a valid passport.

Visa Requirements
Participants requiring a visa are advised to apply at the relevant Embassy/Consular office upon receipt of an official of acceptance letter from the PTS, in order to allow sufficient time for processing.
